December has come and gone, and so have the Cousins. Church Street became Bedlam Avenue once again as the silly, loud, and busy cousins took over. We love it when they're here, and we miss them when they're gone. As Gpappy/Dad/Larry noted, our ears ring with the silence when they leave.
I'll post a few photos to give a sense of the activity level around here last week.

The cousins went sledding at every opportunity. For the first time in recent memory, the church yard hill provided enough speed for these semi-professionals to do their thing:

one I chose, but the kids all look pretty cute!
Naturally there were couch pictures. Everyone is cooperative these days-- not like in the past, where someone had to be grumpy or unwilling to sit for a few minutes. The number of shots taken has dwindled from as many as 50 or 60 to 5 or 10 to get one where everyone is in the moment. Either they're maturing or they've decided to concede in order to get it over with!

This may be my last blog post. Not sure yet if I'll continue with it in 2017. Other social media platforms make blogs seem antiquated. Texting, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, etc. are more current. At least for the moment. By the time I type this, new ones may have replaced them.
I have to do some additional thinking about my blog.. On one hand, I'm bothered by the bumper sticker aspect of most of the platforms I mentioned, and by their transient nature. Short statements, snappy remarks, easily forgotten in the vapor of cyberspace. That doesn't mean I don't love seeing the photos and bits of information shared in those ways by family and some friends. I just prefer more.
