Friday with Ethan and Owen

Some Minnesota weather days are just plain miserable, and this is one of them. And it would be unbearable if not for the presence of a couple of two year-olds who know how to liven up a hot and humid first day of July.

Immediately upon their arrival on Thursday evening, Ethan and Owen stripped down and went for horsie rides.
This morning Owen tested his culinary skills by creating a multi-decker ice cream cone...

... while Ethan took the stagecoach out for a spin.

Then they had breakfast together at the big boy table.

Afterwards, we took walk up to First Lutheran Church so the boys
could supervise work being done on the new addition.
"A little more to the left with that beam, please. Thanks!"

A warm walk back down the church hill, and then to the patio, where the boys
climbed stairs, then did it again, then did it once more, then repeated.

They wanted a bubble break, so we had one.

...followed by playing with favorite vehicles on the patio.

Then it was indoors to cool off, have a snack, and play with the Sesame Street house and the "boys".

Mommy and Daddy got back from their house-hunting expedition in time for lunch, Daddy and Grandpappy took Ethan to Urgent Care to get a swollen spider bite examined, then house-hunting resumed while the boys took naps. That's the state of things right now... stay tuned!

The "horsie back" picture is great!
The horse on the left looks a little tired!

Oddly, the only tired parts were the horsie's wrists, a consequence of short fetlocks. Rode hard and put away wet, as they say.

I was a little concerned about the intro to your blog post...the part about the boys stripping down. You've had a lot of little boys showing off their birthday suits lately! Hopefully they outgrow it within the next couple of years or the neighbors might start to wonder. We'll ALL start to wonder :)
