April Shower

I'm behind on news, but anyone who reads this knows what goes on around here anyway. Last weekend was Twins Shower Weekend, and a good time was had by all, until Sunday evening. More on that later.

I've got a dang cold and have no inspiration for writing anything witty or clever, so pictures can do the talking.

Hannah and Miles say "Hi-yoh"

So is Kris...can you find the hidden design?

Soon we'll need two more highchairs!
Good-bye kisses between cousins
Shortly after Hannah and Miles said their good-byes and shared kisses with aunts, uncles, and grandparents, Miles decided to check out the garbage bag in the kitchen. His little finger found a can lid and the result was a trip to the emergency room. He's all healed up now, thanks to the finger transplant from his daddy. Not really, of course, but Tanner--that was a generous offer. Grandma will now be more careful to keep garbage out of reach of toddler grandchildren, and next time perhaps our good-byes won't be as dramatic or stressful.

While we waited to find out about Miles,
Charlie and Angie read to Hannah.
Stella is a favorite!
An occasional stray Cheerio hidden behind a table leg and some sticky spots on furniture are reminders of all the cuteness that we enjoyed last weekend. We can't wait for two more babies to join the family and add to the growing legion of cousins!

April

It's April now, but this is all I have time to write. Maybe I'll catch up this weekend. In the meantime, Happy Birthday Mary Jo, well wishes to Teresa, and love to Hannah and Miles and the Ziggies.

Where were YOU eleven years ago today?

The robins are here

I borrowed this picture from flickr.com after several in-vain attempts to photograph a similarly chubby robin that came and went on the patio this morning. She (presumably a girl robin) was hopping around looking puffy and happy, a smile on her beak, not grumpy like the birdie above. I'll give you one guess as to which cute expanding daughter-in-law the happy robin reminded me of immediately. I'm going to keep my eyes open for nest construction, and hope that this bird has identical baby birdies in the near future as we await the tiny chirps and cries of two identical human babies.

An afternoon with Miles

We've got a little boy here for a sleep-over tonight. His mommy and daddy are at a benefit for an O-town family, and decided to ask if we'd Miley-sit. We had a very nice day, but it went too fast. Miles was too pooped to participate by 7:00, and so we gave in and let him go to bed, cuddled up to Rosie the pretend puppy. Here are some highlights.

Bless my shillelagh

Not having much of an interest in things Irish (other than a few friends), I didn't get fired up for the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade in St. Peter this year, much less for the fascinating photos in the local paper showing the Irish folk from town, including the biggest clans--Genelins, O'Malleys, Connellys and more. Hannah O'Dellon and Miles O'Grimmius will have to come to St. Peter sometime for the big event. In the meantime, the two little ones are in their second year of wearing a traditional Irish onsie on St. Paddy's Day. According to Miles, the green Cool Whip was a big hit at daycare, and Hannah learned about how to change water from clear (claro) to the color verde. A little food coloring goes a long way to entertain toddlers. Here are our Irish grandchildren. The Zigs will have to wear Irish onsies next year and be a part of the fun!

Long time no blog

I haven't been writing lately because it would be crabby and whiny stuff, and lord knows my family can't take much more of it. The good parts of the past week include: a video of Hannah calling to "the people" from a balcony in Puerto Rico (Hannah, it reminded me of Eva Peron, singing to her people not to cry for her), a visit with Miley, and a trip to Richfield to deliver a dryer and participate in the assembly of a crib. I can't share the video of Hannah, as she is slightly under-dressed, but here are visual mementos of the other two highlights of the week.
