We did a quick little tour of the Nicollet County Fair this afternoon. Despite a low turnout of attendees, we stopped to talk to least 20 people we know, some we haven't seen in many years. Kids, we saw the original Mr. Wolfe (and Delores). Fun to talk to them!

Although he may not look like it, Dad/Larry/Gpappy was especially delighted to buy a chocolate milkshake from the dairy folks. Happy #44, Larry!
(Here's proof we were at the fair, and that it
wasn't exactly teeming with Nicollet County citizenry.)
While we were at the tame county fair, Miles was living it up with his parents at Valley Fair. Grandpa Dave and Grandma Doreen kept Westy entertained in Otown while Miles rode the rides. Thanks for the cute picture, Annie.
Saturday, August 9
Our Saturday morning return trip to the county fair was as quiet as the previous afternoon. Apparently the party doesn't get started until after sundown--a dance last night, and the demo derby tonight. E and O wore their anti-manure boots (good thing) for the walk through the animal barns. Sad to say there was no jumping rabbit this year. The bunny must be on the talk show circuit. But there were big old piggies, pooping cows, and wild horses to keep the boys interested. The mowing equipment held its usual fascination for these guys.
While we were wandering around the fair, back home in NC
Vivian was making a fashion statement. What a chica!!
