It's the return of the workermen... this time to fix (for good, I hope!) a leak in the roof around the chimney in the sun room. We'd had a leak right after the sun room was added, and several years went by before we noticed anything more. Three summers ago, the leak left wet spots on the wall again and the paint began to bubble.
There were calls to Schmidt's and visits from Nick from Schmitdt's, and more calls and more visits. Winter came and went twice. This spring it was worse than ever, and the dining room wall had a wet spot as well. Another call to Schmidt's and another visit from Nick produced this hole in the wall:
Still not fixed, so Nick and Nick, Jr. (for lack of a better name) are on the roof replacing shingles and sealing up the area once again. They'll get a hose up there to test it out, and we should be all set to have the hole repaired and the wall painted.

The pounding sounds confident up there on the roof, so I'm going to assume Nick and Nick, Jr. know what they're doing.
We've got a small landscaping project that is supposed to get started and done soon to take the curse off the fort wall of a fence we have in the backyard. Karl came to scope out the situation and figure out how many trim pavers and how much rock he'll need to bring, so that was happening today as well.
And to add a little interest to a busier than usual environment, Larry/Dad/Gpappy spent much of the morning on the phone to set up a pre-op physical for a colonoscopy. I wouldn't have mentioned such a personal thing except that it has taken at least a dozen phone calls, a couple of emails, and parts of three days to get this far. Does it seem as odd to you as it does to me that a guy who hasn't had a colonoscopy for a dozen years has to practically beg to schedule one??
