We're on construction hiatus until Wednesday when Jeff the carpenter comes back, unless Bill the electrician can make an appearance and get the outlet taken care of for the refrigerator so we can get that up and running. It's possible, but not likely. In the meantime, I continue to vacuum and dust, vacuum and dust.
E and O came to play after preschool. Their teacher gave them Easter bags containing an egg each had dyed, Easter grass, a plastic egg filled with candy and... a little lamb. Little Lambs Preschool. Get it? They were very excited to open the bags and enjoy their goodies.
They were also eager to combine their love of acting with their knowledge of the Easter story, which they've learned about at preschool. I'm not talking about the story of the Easter bunny hiding eggs. Owen was the casting director, playing the role of a Roman soldier/guard. He cast Ethan as Judas and me as Jesus. His best line, repeated often, was "Come on, Judas, let's go!" And off they'd run, leaving me on the cross.
Snack time was fun because the boys had to use their detective skills to find treats tucked away in a grocery bag a corner of the dining room. With the kitchen in disarray nothing is easy to find---unless you're almost 5 and want juice and pretzels and know how to find them in ten seconds.
Not having a functioning kitchen is not getting old yet, especially when we get to spend time with family and friends. We met Margie and Bill at Whiskey River tonight, and enjoyed catching up on all sorts of things. Much nicer than microwaving something frozen! Our new stove is sitting in the garage and won't be installed for a couple of weeks...I can live with that!

It sounds like things are progressing pretty much on schedule with your kitchen. Enjoy your brief hiatus from the noise and mess! A very Happy Easter to all!
